Fall River Rap

Stick-up at Sunoco

Shortly after midnight on December 6, a Sunoco Gas Station was robbed in Swanton.

The burglar held the cashier at gunpoint and took an undisclosed amount of money. The cashier described the robber as a white male, ranging from 5"8 to 6 feet tall.

Fortunately no one was hurt during the crime and the Vermont State Police are continuing to search for the culprit.

If anyone has information please call the Vermont State Police in Saint Albans at 802-524-5993 or you can contact the Franklin Country Sheriff's Office at 802-524-2121.

Pimp My Blog

At first I was just testing out some features and messing around with the whole customization feature. I didn't want a background that other people would have so I uploaded a picture of my home city, Fall River, Massachusetts. I am proud to say I come from there, even though it's not the best city I am still glad that I've lived there. The background picture is the Battleship that is in Fall River, it is the largest historic naval ship exhibit. It is located under the Braga Bridge which is said to connect from Somerset to Azores.

At the top of my page I put a slideshow. There aren't many pictures in it yet but it just captures some of the memories I have had, including: My baby cousin Chloe, my high school senior trip to Disney, family functions, etc.

I wanted to use text that looked semi-professional and clean. One thing I do not like about this blog website is that it seems a lot like Myspace, which I am not a fan of. I based the color scheme off of the background image so it matched and didn't look sloppy.

One of the gadgets I added was my Twitter feed, just to give the readers some insight of to what I might be doing and things of that sort. I use Twitter more than any other social media program. I also implemented the Tetris game, a share button for Facebook and Twitter and ESPN updates. I put the Tetris game in there because in Television Class in high school everyone in the class would play Tetris when we didn't have work to do so I just though it would be fun to have on my blog.

I spent a lot of time just messing around with my blog, I didn't really go through a certain process, I just sort of used the trial and error method and kept changing things until I liked my page.

Online Writing Exercise

A hunting trip in Vermont doesn't go as planned.

It all started in Albany, VT when two friends had decided to go hunting, Conrad Masse and Wayne Goff. They were using telemetry and GPS to track the bear they were going to hunt. They hopped in their truck and drove down Urie Rd.

While driving, Goff got out of the truck and waited for the bear to cross the road. Masse drove up the road a little more then got out of the truck. The bear got in between Goff and Masse, the latter of the two opened fire. Masse shot three rounds in total, one hit a tree, another struck the bear and a third hit his partner, Goff, in the mid section.

Goff is going to be alright, he was released from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and is in stable condition. However, pain will occur in their wallets as well, Masse was charged with aggravated assault and he was also given tickets consisting of: shooting from the road, having a loaded rifle in his vehicle and not having proper display of permits for the bear hounds.

Blog Critique

http://rapradar.com/

I love music, any genre, as long as it is good music I will like it. I've been using rapradar.com for a long time now for all of my hip-hop/rap information. This is probably one of my most reliable music sources. Many things from this blog appeal to me. I love how it is always updating. I can hop on when I wake up and see new articles, then before I go to bed there will be about twenty more posts. I also like how there are different sections like: Q&A (interviews with artists), there is a Twitter 100 and an R&B section. Another feature I like is that there are multiple writers and most of them include either songs, videos, pictures or direct download links in they posts. One thing I think Rapradar could improve on would be the interaction between authors and readers. I have not seen any author respond to a a reply and there are a ton of adds on this blog. It would be cool if there was a section where the viewers had an impact, for example, if there were polls (i.e rapper of the year, album of the year).
